Farewell Colorado Weather

I have to say I am actually going to miss the cold in Colorado, I just wish I could have picked a colder weekend to move back to Texas. This is a little ridiculous!

God has different plans

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.   Hebrews 6:12

God is not ready for me to go to Texas yet... he gave me this verse in light of the fact that we no longer have a court date on the 23rd of this month, so we will not be making the trip to Texas right now :(   We will miss family, but will see them soon. Please keep praying

Trip to Texas

Getting ready for the long drive back to Texas... we will be leaving early Thursday morning and it will take us most of the day to get there. Going to be a good trip, looking forward to seeing family and the kiddos. Please continue to pray for us as we have a court hearing set for Monday the 23rd to deal with these issues we have been having and hopefully get them all resolved. Thanks for all that have been praying for us, we really appreciate it.

Major Snow

For the past 2 days it has been snowing in Castle   Rock and the result is some of the most beautiful scenary you will ever see. I love the snow the and the dogs do too. Hunter likes to catch snowballs in his mouth and Bailey likes to bounce around in the snow, they are such pups. Winter is on the way, and I think we are going to have a hard one

Hunting in Colorado is Hard

I learned two things from hunting over the past two days. One, I am not conditioned for the altitude. and two, Elk are Ghosts. On the left is a picture of one of the mountains where we hunted. Snow on the ground in places, temperature were very low in the early morning and late evening... well below freezing and there was alot of walking.

We hiked to just under 11,000 feet looking for the notorious Wapiti. We only saw a couple but were unable to reach them because we didn't have a canon to shoot the distance. All in all it was a great trip. Phil was able to hike circles around me because I am not conditioned for that altitude but it was still fun and as you can see the views are amazing. The elk live to see another day, and the only thing I can be sure of is that I will get another chance some day.

At the Range... Ready for the Hunt

Spent some time at the range yesterday and checked my rifle. Everything looks good... I was able to put 2 rounds within 2 inches at 100 yards and that should be good enough for any elk I see. We were also able to get Phil's rifle sighted in. So we are good to go for this weekend. Conditions are right, weather should be good with snow on the ground, high's in the low to mid 50's, and lows in the low to mid 30's. New Moon on Sunday so conditions could not be better. Now we just need to find the elk, Wish me luck!

Elk Hunting

October 17th is opening day for my Rifle Elk season in Colorado. I will be going Elk hunting for the first time and I am very anxious to get out there. I got my gear all ready to go and will be heading to the range sometime this week to check the scope on my rifle and make sure it is still accurate. Wish me luck

God answers Prayer

I feel overwhelmed right now with what God is doing in my life. Carrie got a job today... she got the call back from KinderCare and starts today! Its a great opportunity, close to home and will help us alot. We also got some great news from Texas regarding the kids as we found a really good Christian lawyer that is going to help us out, and things look to be moving quickly. Keep praying for us and thank you for all that have been praying... we are so blessed

Comfort

Those of you that are close to me know that me and my family have been going through some trials... really difficult trials. I have to say that in everything we have gone through, I am so comforted by knowing that God is working in my life and teaching me things. I have never been closer to God, I have never been in his word more and I have never felt more joy and comfort than I am feeling now. I know God is working in my life and I know that he is going to resolve the situation quickly.  My prayer tonight is for you... for all of you who have been praying for us. I pray that God will bless you beyond measure. I pray that God will move in your life and create blessings that will overflow in your life because I have been so overwhelmed with the voices of people that are praying for me.  I pray especially for Lynn, for the comfort and the friendship that I have been given, and also for Phil and Sara, I don't know if these people realize how special they are to me.  I never knew so many people cared about me and my family and I am so thankful for all the friends I have. God has truly blessed my life.

Psalm 70 - My Prayer for the day

Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thous art my help and my deliverer; O Lord, make no tarrying

Colorado State Fair

Well we decided Saturday to visit the State Fair of Colorado. We have always gone to the State Fair of Texas and always had a blast. It was a drive down to Pueblo, but a fun one. We got to the fair around 1pm and stayed until around 7pm but we immediatly noticed a considerable size difference in this fair. Much smaller!!! I guess everything is BIGGER in TEXAS! Overall it was a fun day for us, a chance to get away from everyday life and enjoy some local music and great fair food. Corn Dogs, Funnel Cake and my personal favorite, "Chicken on a stick." This Chicken was excellent but the Corn Dogs were not the same as Texas. Weirdest food had to be either "Pork Chop on a Stick" or "Fried Twinkie's." (Not brave enough to try those) We spent the whole day there enjoying the Lumberjack show, watching some Sea Lions for part of their act, and generally just having fun and enjoying the fair atmosphere. Overall it was a great time and Carrie and I both agreed that we would definently go back next year just for the food and the environment.

Carrie's Job Possiblity

Carrie had a job interview today, with KinderCare. possible teaching position which would be really great for us and for her... its a really nice opportunity so pray for us that Carrie can get this job. Thank you for all the prayers from everyone at Castleview and all our friends. We have been blessed and please continue to pray for our family, we know God is in control and will resolve it quickly.
