The 2nd picture is a another view from the balcony... lots of snow falling
In the 3rd picture you can see the buildup on the car... get your ice scraper ready! (click on each picture to see it huge)

God has been good to me!

I come to a point in my life today where I am completly and totally overwhelmed. It's the most amazing feeling I have ever experienced and God made it possible. Anything is possible with God... ANTHING! We recieved some great news about the kids today and while I can't explain everything here, I can assure you that the kids will be home soon. Thank you all for your prayers

Major Snow

For the past 2 days it has been snowing in Castle   Rock and the result is some of the most beautiful scenary you will ever see. I love the snow the and the dogs do too. Hunter likes to catch snowballs in his mouth and Bailey likes to bounce around in the snow, they are such pups. Winter is on the way, and I think we are going to have a hard one

Hunting in Colorado is Hard

I learned two things from hunting over the past two days. One, I am not conditioned for the altitude. and two, Elk are Ghosts. On the left is a picture of one of the mountains where we hunted. Snow on the ground in places, temperature were very low in the early morning and late evening... well below freezing and there was alot of walking.

We hiked to just under 11,000 feet looking for the notorious Wapiti. We only saw a couple but were unable to reach them because we didn't have a canon to shoot the distance. All in all it was a great trip. Phil was able to hike circles around me because I am not conditioned for that altitude but it was still fun and as you can see the views are amazing. The elk live to see another day, and the only thing I can be sure of is that I will get another chance some day.

At the Range... Ready for the Hunt

Spent some time at the range yesterday and checked my rifle. Everything looks good... I was able to put 2 rounds within 2 inches at 100 yards and that should be good enough for any elk I see. We were also able to get Phil's rifle sighted in. So we are good to go for this weekend. Conditions are right, weather should be good with snow on the ground, high's in the low to mid 50's, and lows in the low to mid 30's. New Moon on Sunday so conditions could not be better. Now we just need to find the elk, Wish me luck!

Elk Hunting

October 17th is opening day for my Rifle Elk season in Colorado. I will be going Elk hunting for the first time and I am very anxious to get out there. I got my gear all ready to go and will be heading to the range sometime this week to check the scope on my rifle and make sure it is still accurate. Wish me luck
